I am very proud to see my work fronting the latest release from the Abstract Art project of the wonderful and most talented R.A.P.P. Quelle!

Quelle has used my 2010 painting ‘Fandangos In Space’ – which was sold in January 2012 –  as the cover for his recent #OurWorld(Ode to Isaac), and yes I know that it is still showing as a painting still for sale on my website gallery, and I will get around to making those major updates to the site over the coming weeks.

For those who are yet to discover him Quelle is a Rapper/Hip Hop artist native to the Bahamas and he is known for his hard hitting philosophical lyrics.

In March I am very proud to be represented by MICHAEL Picoron ART CONSULTING at one of Europe’s most prestigious art fairs, the Lille Art Fair which is being staged in the Lille Grand Palais. M. Picoron is situated at D13 on the top floor.

I am delighted that two new paintings will be making their debut at the show, ‘We’ll Always Have Delaunay’, 30in X 36in and ‘2,000 Light Years From Home’ which is also 30in X 36in, and both are framed in my signature white tulip wood frames.  Now in it’s 6th year the Lille Art Fair brings together more than 120 French and European galleries on 12,000 m2 of exhibition space

The first three exhibitions of my work this year are in London and France, starting with the international  Lille Art Fair , March 7-10,  at the Lille Grand Palais where I am delighted to be represented by MICHAEL Picoron ART CONSULTING.

Next up I am in London’s Brick Lane Gallery as part of ‘CONTEMPORARY 2013’ which takes place March 12 – 18 and is being staged by Holland’s GaleriaZero in association with The Brick Lane Gallery.   ‘Moonlight Over Men-an-tol’ will be shown alongside other works and there is a possibility that one of my videos might be screened.

New York

I was thrilled when I started 2012 with early sales of my work, including a painting in Cornwall quickly followed by the sale of another painting which went to New York.

This January I am absolutely delighted to announce that I have had the most phenomenal start to 2013 having just sent five sold paintings to a collector in New York.

A little later than usual here is my brief roundup of my year in 2012 along with my best wishes for a Happy New Year to all of my supporters, friends, and followers around the world, may you all have a fabulous 2013.

Once again I thank you for being with me during the past twelve months and a particular thank you to all of the people who purchased paintings from me during 2012, several of whom have added to their collections of my work. I am immensely thankful for the comments and feedback which I regularly receive, especially when I read comments such as ‘Chris your art is the first thing that I see when I open my eyes in the morning, and it makes me feel so happy to be alive’ ~ long may my paintings light up your walls and lift up your lives.

2012 was another remarkable year for me and my work, including a move into my new purpose built studio, which is still ongoing… a few of the other highlights are noted below.

Internationally my work has gone on to be exhibited in new territory ~ in Amsterdam, Berlin, Dubai and Italy ~ and I am exceptionally proud to be working with Michael Picoron who during the latter part of the year introduced my paintings to a French audience via several exhibitions in Northern France.

I was also delighted to be invited to take part in the most interesting “Today I Dumped The Bodies” project in New York last April.

Back here in the UK, in addition to mixed shows in Cornwall and London I was fortunate to have had two well received solo exhibitions, ‘2012 – Signs, Secrets & Symbols’ for The ARThouse Gallery in Bournemouth, and finishing the year in full colour with my ‘Colours Of Christmas’ for The Blake Gallery in Gravesend.

Consolidating on the 2011 success of my ‘antiSocial Media Generation’ I was also thrilled that my short video ‘The Engine Room’ made its debut at Nottingham’s ‘Night of Festivals’ during the summer, and moving into a slightly different area it has been very gratifying to have been invited to write some notes on art for children in Cornwall’s leading family magazine, Octopus.

Also as in previous years, I have continued to raise money for local, national and international charities through donations of my paintings for auction.

Coming up in 2013 I am very excited to be exhibiting in London, Lille, Berlin, Basel and Julich, some very interesting paintings are underway in the studio, destined for France and Germany later in the year. One last point, I know that I have said this before but I really will try harder to keep my website properly updated, including the images of work previously sold, this should be easier for me when I am fully settled into the new studio.

Colours Of Christmas

A selection of 22 new works that I have painted especially for The Blake Gallery in Gravesham in Kent will go on show during the month of December, including my 2012 Christmas Card painting, which of course has it’s customary cosmic character.

This exhibition of paintings features some of the traditional images of Christmas, presented in my usual contemporary and colourful way, and it includes elements of Kent, and Gravesend in particular, a place which I am most pleased to be returning to for the first time in over forty years.

‘Colours Of Christmas’ is a landmark show for me as it is my first major exhibition in a public gallery in the UK to take place outside of Cornwall, and it follows on from my two man show at The Bristol Gallery with Sir Peter Blake in 2010.

There is an exhibition catalogue to accompany the show which is available on request direct from me or at The Blake Gallery.

‘Colours Of Christmas’ the exhibition takes place at The Blake Gallery from December 3 – December 28 inclusive and there will be a Launch Evening on Tuesday December 4th from 6.30pm – 9pm.

Full details of my solo Christmas Exhibition at The Blake Gallery in Kent will be posted over the weekend.

I am delighted to have been asked to feature in the Jackson’s Artists Advent Calendar which has been set up by Jackson’s Arts on the Specialmoves free website ~ 24 Days Of Happiness ~ for anyone to add 24 images which can be viewed each day starting from 1st December.   The image for my work was chosen from my portfolio by Jackson’s themselves

There is an App which is completely free to use, but calendar-makers are encouraged to make a £2 voluntary donation to the fantastic child mentoring charity Friendship Works.
Specialmoves are aiming to raise at least £5000 this Christmas to help them give better life chances to young people who need stronger social support networks.

‘The 29th Day’ and my other two designs for Sequoia Tees, ‘Magnetic Sun’ and ‘BIG BANG’ will be on exhibition in early December in Amsterdam, alongside works from a selection of other artists involved in the Sequoia Tees Limited Edition project.
