Kunstakademie Internationale Heimbach - Chris Billington

Today i have updated my links and added one to the magnificent Kunstakademie Internationale in Eifel.

The Kunstakademie is currently featuring the retrospective Schirmer 200 Exhibition, with many works celebrating  the great 19th Century landscape painter, along with paintings from selected contemporary German artists including four of mine.

I have recently been informed that the exhibition is a huge success, attracting over 8,000 visitors to date and runs until the end of October.

“Bright Future” @ Worldwide Financial Planning

After a very busy day and a half I managed to hang all nine paintings at the Truro offices of Worldwide Fiancial Planning.

The main work being “Bright Future” –  the piece especially commissioned for Peter McGahan, the Managing Director of Worldwide – is now proudly hanging in the main reception, along with “Sailing Past Pendennis” and “Walk the Plank”.

Chris Billington - Bright Future (2010)

I could not have done it without the enthusiastic assistance  of Sarah Howard and Jeannie Cain,  and not forgetting the MD himself, who spent the best part of an hour this morning balanced precariously on the top of a stepladder, taking the full wight of “Gyllyngvase (X)” while I fixed it to the wall.

Here are a few photo’s of the work in situ, including a few of us getting to grips with “Gyllyngvase  (X)” on a first floor stairwell

Helford Reach

The move to The Lizard went smoothly last Monday  and the new studio is up and running.

I am sure that the move will produce a lot of exciting new work and I am already working on a couple of commissions, “Bright Future” being  one of them, here are some photo’s taken this evening and yesterday….
