Juelich Museum Exhibition Catalogue

Today I received the first draft of the catalogue for my October exhibition of  “Colour and Reduction – 15 Landscapes to J.W. Schirmer”  from the Juelich Museum.

I am stunned by the care and dedication that the museum have put into creating this, it is a work of art and already runs to 40+ pages, and it is most gratifying to see my works sitting alongside the Schirmer originals on the page.   It is now in the final stages and will be available in good time for the opening.

The text will be translated into German by the museum, who are producing the catalogue which is being produced by the museum and it will be bi-lingual.

This exhibition was commissioned by The Juelich Museum to mark the 150th anniversary of the death of Johann Wilhelm Schirmer and the Private View is on October 19 with the exhibition running from October 20 – November 3

I have now started work on the piece that has been commissioned by Velux and The Daylight Project and I will update the News on this exciting and most interesting project once it is properly in process.

The Daylight Project

A retrospective exhibition of my work which takes place in the magnificent Regency Room of The Hotel Victoria in Newquay from 25 October to 6 November, which I am holding in aid of Marie Curie, will feature several paintings which have not been shown in Cornwall before, along with ‘Gweek Bridge’ which has been specifically painted for Marie Curie and is to be raffled at the Marie Curie Holly Ball in December. Tickets for the raffle will be available soon and ‘Gweek Bridge’ will be photographed later this week with representatives from Marie Curie.

In further art news I shall also be starting another large private commission this week which I hope to finish by Christmas, before I move onto my major project for 2014 which will be outlined more fully toward the end of the year.

Dream-A-Way Charity Auction

Exeter based Charity Dream-A-Way provide holidays and outings for seriously ill and disabled people of all ages living in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. What marks them out as being quite unique is that nobody, from the Chairman down, takes any remuneration from the Charity. Every penny raised goes towards helping people.

Next month Dream-A-Way celebrates its 20th Birthday with a Charity Ball and Auction on Friday 4th October at Sandy Park, home of the Exeter Chiefs. I am most pleased to have donated a painting for the auction, ‘Mary Anne’, from my 2010 Falmouth exhibition of ‘Falmouth Working Boats’.

An update and full details on the work will follow in due course.
