Welcome into a New Year year of shining possibilities in 2017.
As we are well into a New Year, and as is usual for me this time of year, I am taking a look back at the year just passed.
December is always a special opportunity for me to spend some quality time with friends, patrons and supporters of my work in and around my home County of Cornwall and last month was no exception. This year I have decided to include a few photographs of some of my art held in private collections fairly local to my studio, some of which are quite extensive, and which I have the privilege of revisiting from time to time here in Cornwall.
During 2016 I was involved in a variety of interesting projects, including work for the recently reformed Spitfire Boys and The Spice Boys. and I spent far too many hours in front of screens working on computer art. In particular my latest piece of digital art, ‘Shining Possibilities’, a creation which has taken many more hours to complete than I anticipated, which is part of the reason why I am posting this toward the end of January rather than the beginning.
In a related way, a hybrid of cover art and computers, I was intrigued to have been contacted by PG Online early last year when they invited me to supply cover art for a set of GCSE Teaching Units on Computer Science. The artwork was based on a selection of my physical paintings, chosen by Rob Heathcote of PG Online.
I was delighted to be asked to participate and the full set of six GCSE Teaching Units on Computer Science can be found at PG Online below.
Going forward into 2017 I am already hard at work in the ArtLab, my studio here in Cornwall, and have started work on two commissioned paintings. I shall continue to develop my digital art alongside my conventional painting, I am also working on an experimental film project which is progressing slowly. I have several offers to exhibit later this year at home and abroad, all of which I am considering, so I shall see where 2017 takes me. In any event my art is as ever branching out in different directions but always strongly underpinned by my painting.
Once again thank you to all of my friends, family and supporters of my art both here in the UK and from around the world. Thank you for sticking with me and for your kind interest in my art and for taking the time to read my sporadic updates. As I have said before, you are each and every one of you intrinsic to my creativity.
Your love is the engine of my art and I wish you all a New Year of Shining Possibilities.
