It is an honour to have been asked to speak at the Creative Inspiration Event, a talk on Creativity being held on the rooftop terrace at Tremough Innovation Centre, July 9th 2013.   I shall be talking alongside Simon Minchin, who for many years was Executive Creative Director of Saatchi & Saatchi in South Africa and McCann, Asia, and Lloyd Pennington of Cornwall based product design and development company, Buff Design.

Creative Inspiration: Cornwall Social Media Cafe Special Event

• Cornwall Social Media Café and Tremough Innovation Centre will be hosting a series of inspirational talks around the subject of creativity at July’s event, set to take place at the innovation centre on Tuesday 9th July.

  Taking place on the rooftop terrace, you’re invited to hear talks from leading creatives drawn from the areas of business, advertising, product design and art.

  The keynote talk will be delivered by Simon Minchin, a professional writer, marketer and gardener who has his name on over 50 international Creative Awards for advertising and design.

  Simon spent 10 years of his career managing the creativity of others as a Creative Group Head in London and Executive Creative Director of Saatchi & Saatchi in South Africa and McCann, Asia.

  He will be supported by internationally renowned, abstract artist,Chris Billington, and Lloyd Pennington of Buff Design, a Cornwall based product design and development company.

  Cornwall Social Media Café attracts those interested in or using social media, with attendees drawn from all walks of life, from art to science, business to charity, politics to education.

  The event, which includes a barbecue and refreshments, is free to attend and will be the first to be held on the rooftop terrace (weather permitting).

  Event organizer, Aren Grimshaw, said,

  “Creativity drives innovation in all walks of life; however, it is an area that is often misunderstood and one that people have difficulty in understanding how to harness its potential

  “We hope that this event will inspire people to become more creative and realize the benefits that a more creative approach can bring to them and their community.” He continued.
